Fall is the perfect time to plant a pot of flowers to bring color and cheer all winter long, with a nice surprise for early next spring. We will start by planting spring flowering bulbs such as tulips or daffodils in the bottom of our pots to bring excitement and color next year as winter gives way to spring. Learn about flowering bulbs and how they store up energy to release and grow later in the season.
While learning the art of anticipation, kids can satisfy their need for instant color and gratification by planting pansies or violas on top of the bulbs. These pansies and violas will bloom for months and survive the winter frost. Join us for this fun-filled day and go home with a beautiful planter to care for and watch grow.
* $5 from every registration fee for this class will be donated to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital to help provide flowers for their outdoor gardens and garden-related activities for patients and their families.
