We do need a little Christmas right now. We need the lights and the music, the sweet smells from the kitchen, the cozy evenings and we need to haul out the sepia-tinted memories of Christmases past. We may be rushing things, but what’s the harm if we start decking the halls now?

Sure, things are not the same this year, but not everything has changed! This year, we’re going to have a holiday season that’s a bit slower, quieter, with fewer distractions from the hustle and bustle of the season. Why not take advantage of the lack of busy-ness this year and spend some time keeping those old traditions as best as you can while we create some cherished new ones. We need Christmas now more than ever.

Keep the Old Traditions and Make Some New

For many years now, Al’s has hosted a wonderful evening of holiday fun. Our Evening of Lights has been a holiday open house for all ages, with all the sights and sounds of the season.

It first started as an employee Christmas party at our Woodburn store. Everyone brought holiday desserts to share, but when the lights were turned off, the greenhouses became magical. Everyone exclaimed that we should share the beauty of the greenhouses at night with our customers. And the Evening of Lights was born!

Tonight is the kick-off to Christmas with our Week of Lights from November 4th-10th. As with everything this year, a few things have changed, but we still have the amazing displays and they look especially magical at night when the thousands of twinkling lights sparkle.

What a wonderful way to start off your holiday season!

Creating New Traditions with Al’s

Join us as we celebrate; physically distanced and safe, but ready to ring in the season! Delight in the designer decorated trees, and let the over 40 different varieties of our annual Poinsettia Collection usher you into the Christmas spirit. Come see the decades of breeding that goes into cultivating these beauties of the highest quality. At Al’s we make sure our famous Poinsettias last long into the season, and you can too with these Poinsettia Care Tips. Take a few to make your home festive and deliver a little Christmas cheer to your neighbors and friends.

It wouldn't be a party without Al's exclusive Ice Apples®. These Fuji apples come from Walla Walla, and are allowed to remain on the tree until after the first frost. The change in temperature causes the apples to send all their sugar to their core, making them sweet and juicy. Make your own version of our Ice Apple Applesauce from Jack and Dee Bigej (Jack is Al's son).

This year we have extended the sales to all Al's locations all day for an entire week from November 4th-10th with 20% off all Christmas merchandise, pottery, houseplants, and more.

We will be staying open late each night from 5pm-7pm, so that you may shop when the lights and displays are at their most radiant. We will have live music most nights and Santa will be making a special visit on select nights. To help ensure proper distancing we have limited the number of guests each evening, so we ask that you register to attend. Holiday pre-packaged treats can be purchased at the time of registration. These featured treats will not be sold in-stores so get them while supplies last!

We are ready for a season of celebration, fun and festivities. We’re ready for a little Christmas now, so let’s ring in the season together!
